Install and Register Your Server

    CloudServer — No Server Installation Required

    If you are using FontAgent® CloudServer,™ your font server is hosted by Insider at an Internet data center, so you do not need to install or register server software. This page does not apply to you.

    Install Enterprise Server or TeamServer

    To install and activate FontAgent Server software, follow these steps:

    1. Receive an email from Insider with a server software download link.
    2. Follow the installation instructions included with the downloaded software package. The software installs in the /Applications/ folder.
    3. After the software installs, launch the the FontAgent Server Admin service.
    4. Click the Install button. Installation can take several minutes.

    Launch the Server Manager

    If the Server is not indicated as running and ready, Start the server and authenticate to launch the service.

    To begin managing your server, click Open in Browser to launch the Server Manager.

    • The FontAgent Server database and setting are installed in /Library/FAServer7
    • The server application is installed in /Library/Application Support/FontAgent Server Admin
    • Jetty and  Java Standard Edition Runtime Environment are installed as supporting applications for FontAgent Server.

    Register Your Server Software

    When you launch FontAgent Server for the first time, you need to register your software using the email address and password associated with your Insider Software customer account.

    If your server registration is successful, you will see the following dialog.

    Click OK and you will see the FontAgent Server login dialog. Enter your Username and Password, and then click Sign In to open the FontAgent Server Manager.

    Manually Connect to FontAgent Server Manager

    To manually connect to the FontAgent Server Manager from the machine running the Server, open a browser (Firefox or Safari recommended) and enter the following URL.

    http://127.0.0.1:6996/FAServer/

    If you wish to administer from a different computer, replace the URL with the IP address where the Server is installed.

    Check for Updates

    To check for updates, launch the FontAgent Server and click check for updates, or to see the latest version of the server, click here.
