Distribute Sets to Users and Groups

    To distribute sets of fonts to users, assign users or groups to the sets and FontAgent® Server does the rest. To do so, you must first launch the FontAgent Server Manager.

    To manage fonts, click the Fonts tab in the Sidebar and a list of fonts appears in the top pane of the Server Manager window.

    Distribute Server Sets to Users

    To distribute a server set to one or more users, after clicking the Sets tab in the Sidebar, follow these steps:

    1. Select the set to be distributed from the list of server sets. You can use the Filter Sets field at the top-right of the pane to help find the right set.
    2. Click the Users tab in the bottom pane.
    3. Click the Add Users button and the Add Users dialog appears.
    4. Check the users to whom you wish to distribute the set. You can use the Filter Users field to find the right users.
    5. If you want the set assignment to expire on a given date, select the date in the Expiration field.
    6. Click the Save button.

    FontAgent Server distributes the set’s fonts to the users the next time the users sync with the server. The font resides on the users’ systems until either:

    • You remove the assignment of the font manually, or
    • The specified expiration date is reached.

    Distribute Server Sets to Groups

    To distribute a server set to one or more groups, after clicking the Sets tab in the Sidebar, follow these steps:

    1. Select the set to be distributed from the list of server sets. You can use the Filter Sets field at the top-right of the pane to help find the set.
    2. Click the Groups tab in the bottom pane.
    3. Click the  Add Groups button and the Add Groups dialog appears.
    4. Check the groups to whom you wish to distribute the set. You can use the Filter Groups field to find the right groups.
    5. If you want the set assignment to expire on a given date, select the date in the Expiration field.
    6. Click the Save button.

    FontAgent Server distributes the set’s fonts to the groups the next time their member users sync with the server. The font resides on the users’ systems until either:

    • You remove the assignment of the font manually, or
    • The time reaches the end of the assignment’s specified expiration day

    Tracking Font Usage

    Click the Font Usage tab in the bottom pane of the Server Manager to view a table of fonts that have been assigned to the currently selected set.
